We are delighted to welcome dentist Dr Owen Msimango to the team at the practice. Rob said, “I am very pleased that Owen has joined us. He has a great deal of experience and his training adds to and complements the range of options we can offer our patients.”

Owen took his dental degree in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand, graduating in 1999, and moved to the UK shortly afterwards. He has experience of working in both the NHS and private sectors, and has spent the past 23 years working in practices in Derbyshire. He has a passion for general dentistry, especially paediatric dentistry, and loves improving the dental health of younger patients.

His qualifications also include a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Sheffield (2006) and a Masters in Primary Dental Care from the University of Glasgow (2012). He enjoys other aspects of dentistry such as research, dental politics and education, and regularly attends courses delivered by leading experts around the world.

Owen has a passion for cheesemaking, cycling, running and the arts - so there should be plenty to talk about in the surgery!
