Owen has a passion for general dentistry, especially paediatric dentistry, and loves improving the dental health of younger patients. He took his dental degree in South Africa at the University of Witwatersrand, graduating in 1999, and moved to the UK shortly afterwards. He worked in Derbyshire for 23 years before joining Cottingham Dental Practice.
His qualifications also include a Postgraduate Diploma in Healthcare Informatics from the University of Sheffield (2006) and a Masters in Primary Dental Care from the University of Glasgow (2012). He enjoys other aspects of dentistry such as research, dental politics and education, and regularly attends courses delivered by leading experts around the world.
Our practice principal Dr Rob Nichols said: “I am very pleased that Owen has joined us. He has a great deal of experience and his training adds to and complements the range of options we can offer our patients.”
Owen also has a passion for cheesemaking (he is a member of the Specialist Cheesemakers Association), cycling, running and the arts - so there should be plenty to talk about in the surgery!
